1. So true! We had a player drafted by the Mariners after his senior year in high school because scouts saw him pull Jerrod Parker in three at-bats. He never got a hit against him but he hit the ball hard all three times again 95+ MPH pitching. He had extremely quick hands and being a 6’5″ lefty, he had the tools to play, unfortunately he squandered his opportunities with poor decision making.

    • Absolutely right! Coaches/scouts need to see tools. At the highest level, they will have to consistently produce against that type of competition.

      Sounds like you’re player had a good majority of the physical tools…just lacked maybe the most important one: make up.
